“I am pleased to say I had a hand in the naming of this remarkable album. Mark and I coincidentally came up with the title Planetary Overload when we were thinking of what to call it, only to find there was a book by the same name. We sourced the book by Epidemiologist Dr Tony McMichael (which is a book I recommend if you are interested in the future health of the human race in terms of how we are treating the planet) and though sadly Dr McMichael is no longer alive, we were able to get permission from his wife to use the name.

To my mind the title of this album is a strong message summing up what is happening with the Earth and what we are doing to it. It distressed me every day when I see what is going on, climate change deniers, governments who continue to embrace fossil fuels instead of investing in renewable clean energy, whilst failing to deal with our ever increasing plastic waste problems. If this album can increase just ten people’s awareness of the state of the environment and what it means for the future of the human race, the hard work done on this album won’t be wasted. It is to Mark’s credit that he has managed to corral so many talented musicians to work on this epic album, and I am proud that I played a small part in its birth”.
