MATT WILLIAMS<\/span><\/h3>\n

(Electric\/Acoustic guitars & backing vocals on ‘Mercenaries’)<\/span><\/h4>\n

Matt Williams was born 1970 in Adelaide and began playing guitar at the age of 10. Concentrating only on finger style acoustic guitar until graduating from high school, he then moved to electric guitar and started learning and imitating the styles of Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Nuno Bettencourt and Frank Gambale.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his early 20\u2019s Matt toured with popular original band Fire \u2018n\u2019 Ice around Australia and the United States which helped develop a strong on stage persona as well as honing his already virtuosic soloing technique.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now living back in Adelaide Matt is an incredibly in demand session guitarist and engineer\/producer who manages the ever increasing client base at Fat Trax Recording Studios.<\/span><\/p>\n

Matt feels that UPF is the perfect vehicle for both the playing and song writing sides of his personality. The intricate passages interwoven with strong harmonic, rhythmic and melodic content, keep the ever nimble fingers and mind of Matt Williams occupied to an extent never realized until now.<\/span><\/p>\n

His guitar playing, coupled with an astoundingly strong singing voice and irreverent sense of humor, makes Matt an invaluable member of UPF.<\/span><\/p>\n

He also plays around Adelaide with a Joe Satriani tribute show that has to be seen and heard to be believed and the very successful local rock outfit Fighter Pilot! Matt is also a brilliant producer, and engineer and has been credited to many wonderful recordings. Like Sean Timms\u00a0 Matt has a wonderful understanding of music production leaving no stone unturned. Fall in Love with the World was one of the most challenging productions he has ever taken on, the result speaks for itself .<\/span><\/p>\n
