“As poet Arthur O\u2019Shaughnessy wrote: We are the music-makers, And we are the dreamers of dreams. As artists we aspire to be \u201cmovers and shakers\u201d and that means raising a voice in song that reminds us that we are Guardians of the Earth, to protect and preserve life for present and future generations. One thing that threatens our world is war. And one major negative effect of it is death: death of dreams, people and wildlife. In war there are many casualties including the environment. We must unify and do all we can to ward off wide spread devastation for \u201cDeath\u2019s sting is cold.\u201d It is my pleasure to contribute lyrics to this worthy cause that Mark (Truey) has initiated.”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Cindy L. Spear is known by many as the Musician\u2019s Poet and has written lyrics for many established singers and composers of various musical styles around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her friendship with Kerry Livgren (Kansas band) inspired her lyric “Icarus” featured on Leighton Band’s CD “Beyond the Door.” Kerry\u2019s comment: \u201cNice melodic rock song\u2026Very nicely written lyrics. I enjoyed and appreciate the tribute very much.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She has two published books of poetry \u201cFavoured by Romance\u201d and \u201cAwakened\u201d as well as poems, photographs and feature articles in various literary journals and major newspapers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cindy has been featured many times on CBC radio and television and on the historical DVD \u201cWhen the ships Sailed In\u201d a project of the Great Irish Famine 150th Anniversary Commemoration Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n

The late Dr. Fred Cogswell of Fiddlehead Poetry Books, English Professor Emeritus UNB and member of The Order of Canada stated: \u201cCindy L.
