FRANCIS  PÉREZ

(Award-winning underwater photographer)

“We live on a planet that is mostly water. Our lives, forest and air depend on our oceans. A dead ocean means a dead planet.”

Francis Pérez is a freelance professional underwater photographer who focuses on the submarine world with a unique style. His pictures show his own point of view in places such as Indonesia, Red Sea, Malaysia, South Africa, Mozambique, Philippines, Micronesia, Galapagos Islands, Mexico, Chile and Canary Islands, where he has focused on cetaceans.

UPF would like to express our hearthfelt appreciation for the support of Francis Pérez, who has graciously given us permission to use his award winning photograph “’Caretta Caretta Trapped”. The photo shows a loggerhead sea turtle swimming entangled in abandoned fishing gear, off the coast of Tenerife, Canary Islands, in the northeast Atlantic Ocean.
