DR. CARY FOWLER
(Introduction on ‘Seeds for Life’)
“There is so much joy, hope, beauty and life in the diversity of the world’s food crops. What better way to capture this than through music! Music with a message. Music with a purpose. Music that must fill our hearts if we are to save the seeds that nourish humanity. I’m grateful to UPF for raising its voice in song to support this essential cause. I applaud!”
United Progressive Fraternity is truly grateful to have the support and endorsement of one of the world’s foremost authorities on crop diversity and founder of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, Dr. Cary Fowler – who provides the dramatic introduction narration for the epic track ‘Seeds for Life‘.
Dr. Fowler is perhaps best known as the “father” of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, described by former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as an “inspirational symbol of peace and food security for the entire humanity.” The Seed Vault provides ultimate security for more than 850,000 unique crop varieties, the raw material for all future plant breeding and crop improvement efforts. He proposed the creation of this Arctic facility to Norway, headed the international committee that developed the plan for its establishment, and chaired the international council that oversees its operations for many years.
